Tom Reeve

Owner / Staff Mechanical Engineer

Hyperbird Consulting was formed in 2023 by Tom Reeve. Tom holds a BS from UC Berkeley and a MS from the University of Michigan, both in Mechanical Engineering. He has worked in the medical device industry since 2007. During his career, Tom has worked at five different medical device companies, four of which were startups. He is a co-inventor on six patents related to medical devices. Tom specializes in injection molded parts and has designed over 35 components including overmolded and master model driven parts. Tom also has experience designing thermoformed, machined, sheetmetal, die cut, extruded, cast and 3D printed parts.

In addition to component design, Tom is an expert at creating medical grade documentation and setting up quality and document control systems and processes to ensure that all revisions, test protocols, test reports, orders, parts and inventory are traceable and ready for submission to regulatory agencies.
